The condom is like armor for your member. It’s protecting you from long sleepless nights of a crying baby and some infections that you really don’t want to worry about. That’s a war worth suiting up for. Despite all of that, your armor isn’t going to perform properly and keep you safe if you’re not putting it on properly. So take a look at these 15 surprising and common condom errors to ensure that your protection is actually able to do what it was designed for.
1. It’s just too big…er, I’m talking about the condom.
Don’t let ego get in the way. If you’re not an XL, don’t buy XL condoms…it’s more likely to slip off or leak. There are also slim condoms out there if it’s not feeling snug enough. Rock what you’ve got.
2. It’s too small…just remember Goldilocks’s motto. It has to be just right.
Don’t be shy! If you’re part of the six percent that needs the XL, then make sure that you’re getting the proper size. Not sure if you do? Apparently, there’s an easy test: slide a toilet paper tube on when you’re ready to go…if it doesn’t slide on easily, you probably need the XL.
3. Reduce, re-use, and recycle is not meant for the bedroom.
Don’t use a condom more than once. Once you’ve run the good race and passed the finish line, retire that thing to the garbage.
4. It tears during the application.
Careful while unrolling it; keep all long and untrimmed nails away. You don’t want to damage the armor
5. You haven’t unrolled all the way.
Just think of it like a red carpet. You wouldn’t leave a red carpet only halfway unrolled, now, would you?
6. You’ve opened it with something sharp.
Okay, so in your mid-passion escapades, you may not be thinking clearly, but seriously… don’t use sharp objects to open your condom, as chances of tears increase.
