2 accused of taking at least $100K from Nevada brothel

A Nevada brothel worker and an armored truck employee conspired to take at least $100,000 from the former’s workplace over several months, according to investigators.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference Monday to reveal details of an investigation into what deputies dubbed Operation Red Carpet.

According to the sheriff’s office, Shiva Zamiri and Jessie Aulelava were arrested in connection to the investigation. Deputies identified Zamiri as a so-called money keeper at a brothel in the county. She recruited a Loomis armored transport worker, who was identified as Aulelava, as part of the alleged scheme.

Deputies said Zamiri started working as the brothel’s bookkeeper last September, and that money was stolen within weeks of her being on the job. A person close to Zamiri identified the unnamed brothel as Sheri’s Ranch.

“She was the money counter. She dealt with all of the money when it transacted from the brothel to the Loomis Armored Company,” said Det. Eric Murphy, Nye County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said it began an investigation last October after money went missing from the brothel business. During the investigation, deputies found Aulelava had signed for a number of bags during a money transport.
