LOS ANGELES—AVN Media Network on Friday announced the 2021 AVN Awards Show, GayVN Awards Show, AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, AVN Novelty Expo and VIBE Program will become all-digital events in January.
The events—which were set to take place January 18-23 in Las Vegas—will remain on schedule but will move to a digital format due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“The health and safety of our attendees and exhibitors is our top priority, so out of an abundance of caution we’ve made the difficult decision to not hold our January events in-person, but instead create a digital experience that will give industry professionals and the fans of adult entertainment unique opportunities to interact online,” said Tony Rios, chief executive officer for AVN Media Network.
“Both of our awards shows will remain on their respective nights, but due to the current circumstances affecting public health, these ceremonies will be presented in a digital format only for this year.”
The 38th annual AVN Awards Show, presented by MyFreeCams, will be held Saturday, January 23, live on AVNStars.com. Recognized worldwide as the biggest night in adult entertainment, the ceremony once again will recognize outstanding achievements in content creation, movie production, pleasure products, retail and web/tech.
The pre-nomination period for the 2021 AVN Awards Show will begin on Sept. 1, 2020.
Meanwhile the most anticipated night in gay adult entertainment, the GayVN Awards Show, presented by Chaturbate, will return on Jan. 18, 2021, live on GayVNStars.com.
Pre-nominations for GayVN also will open on Sept. 1.
The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, presented by MyFreeCams Jan. 20-23, annually attracts tens of thousands of fans from around the world, superstar content creators and more than 350 exhibitors for four days of networking, education and parties. This year’s digital experience will be designed to maximize opportunities for fans to virtually meet their favorite creators through the AVN Stars platform.
AVN Novelty Expo, presented by Satisfyer Jan. 20-22, brings together the top manufacturers and buyers in the pleasure products industry for a three-day summit that examines the future of the sex toy and novelty sector; and the VIBE Program, which is part of ANE, gives sex-toy manufacturers, novelty companies and adult studios from across the globe the chance to have one-on-one meetings with buyers, distributors and e-tailers.
VIBE went digital for the first time this past June, facilitating hundreds of online meetings between industry decision-makers and drawing praise for its efficiency.
