Even if there wasn’t all the controversy about the release of ‘The Interview,” with James Franco and Seth Rogan, there would be plenty to talk about once the movie came out. The buddy-buddy film has a lot of homoerotic moments that are closer than the usual “bro-moments” that you’d see in the “Harold & Kumar” or “Hangover” films.
This takes it to a whole new level.
First of all, star James Franco has always teased the public with his private sex life, and he’s played bisexual characters all the way back to his breakthrough role as James Dean. He was teased by friends about it on the Comedy Central roas for him, and at his art show he said he believed that sexuality is fluid, saying, “We’re all something in between, floating like angels.”
Without giving any serious spoilers (much of this happens in the first 10 minutes), here are a few of the bisexual moments in the movie.
Tell us in the comments what you thought of the movie, and check out reviews of other films this holiday break.
1. Eminem comes out
On the fictional David Skylark Show (James Franco’s character), rapper Eminem talks about his lyrics from from “Medicine Ball” on Relapse: “I said nice rectum, I had a vasectomy, Hector / So you can’t get pregnant if I bisexually wreck ya.” He says, Hector was real, and that “I’ve been playing gay peek-a-boo for years. I’ve pretty much been leaving a gay bread crumb trail.”
2. Kim Jong-un’s dad thought he may be gay
Franco’s character catches the Supreme Leader of North Korean liking Katy Perry music and embarrassed about sipping margaritas. His father thought he was gay because he liked the sweet margaritas, he tells Franco’s character, who replies, “If liking Katy Perry and sipping margaritas is gay, then who wants to be straight.”
