AIM Healthcare’s Bankruptcy Trustee Reaches Settlement with Testing Labs

The Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM), the primary performer-testing facility for years led by former adult performer Sharon Mitchell, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on May 19, 2011, listing $3,500 in assets and $371,000 in liabilities, primarily owed to testing laboratories it worked with and legal counsel.

AIM’s bankruptcy trustee filed actions against LabWest, (known as Westcliff Clinical Labs before its purchase by clinical lab giant LabCorp), and its parent company, seeking repayment of “alleged preferential transfers” made by AIM to the laboratories.

At the time the AIM clinic was forced into bankruptcy by the machinations of AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Michael Weinstein, the laboratories claimed they were owed hundreds of thousands of dollars.

However, under the settlement reached between the parties, filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court on October 8, LabWest/Lab Corp will pay to AIM’s trustee the sum of $23,500.
