Detectives investigating the death of a woman 18 years ago in Dublin have issued a renewed appeal for information.

Belinda Pereira, a Sri Lankan-born sex worker, was found dead with severe head injuries on 29 December 1996 during a brief visit to Ireland.

The 26-year-old had been staying in an apartment at Mellor’s Court in Liffey Street, Dublin 1.

She planned to return to the United Kingdom on New Year’s Day.
