LAS VEGAS (June 3, 2015) – Noted sociologist, author, and porn industry expert Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals will participate in the “Gender Identity in Burlesque” roundtable discussion on Thursday, June 4 in Las Vegas. The hour-long panel will take place at 1:10 p.m. as part of the four-day Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, 4500 W Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Dr. Chauntelle brings to the panel her unique experience and insights on the adult industry as outlined in her critically acclaimed upcoming book, Exposure: A Sociologist Explores Sex, Society, and Adult Entertainment. It is due to release on July 7 by Greenleaf Book Group.
The panel will discuss the ways gender is represented in burlesque and adult entertainment today, with a focus on gender identity. The panel includes burlesque dancer World Famous Bob, drag artist Lou Henry Hoover, burlesque dancer Michelle Baldwin, and gender-blending burlesque performer Waxie Moon. Burlesque performer/educator Jo Weldon, will facilitate the discussion.
