(CBS) SEFFNER, Fla. – A former teacher at Mango Elementary School near Tampa says the explicit text messages she sent to the student she is accused of having sex with were a part of “sexual therapy,” according to CBS affiliate WTSP.

Ethel Anderson, 31, is on trial for charges of having sex with a student when he was 12-years-old. During testimony on Tuesday, the boy, who is now 14, reportedly said the abuse started after four or five weeks into tutoring sessions with the defendant.

He said, “She would rub my legs, kiss me on my ears, neck, and stuff like that.”

The boy also said the former teacher touched him and performed oral sex on him. “We would make out and tongue kiss.”

The tutoring sessions took place at the woman’s home in Riverside, where she lived with her husband and children, according to WTSP.

Anderson, who was reportedly named the teacher of the year at the Seffner elementary school, denied the allegations of having sex with the boy and said the boy had threatened her with getting her in trouble. She claims the boy said, “Keep playing you’re gonna lose your child.”

Anderson admitted sending over 230 pages of explicit text messages about porn and sexual acts to the young boy. She reportedly said they were just “sexual therapy,” and was using them as part of a fantasy to motivate the “troubled student” into improving.

The station reports the former teacher admitted, while on the stand, that she was trying to gain the student’s attention in an inappropriate way.

If convicted, Anderson could face 30 years behind bars, according to WTSP.Ethel Anderson, 31, is on trial for charges of having sex with a student when he was 12-years-old.
