CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Highly regarded adult webmaster Bill Fox has been rendered temporarily blind in both eyes due to varied medical afflictions, and a number of industry leaders have rushed to drum up funds that will carry him through the tribulations he currently faces to restore his sight.
Wicked Pictures directing/performing couple Jessica Drake and Brad Armstrong spearheaded the fundraising effort by setting up a donation drive on crowdfunding site GoFundMe.com. The set goal for the drive is $5,000, and in less than a day over a fifth of that has been raised, thanks to backers including Alison Tyler, Jessica Jaymes, Glenn King, Christian XXX, Sext Panther, Asa Akira, Wicked Pictures and XXX Star PR.
“Bill has been a fixture in our business for over 15 years. He’s a really great guy, and a good friend to so many in the industry,” Drake told AVN. “He runs many girls’ solo sites, helps them cam, makes banners, shoots content, and provides promo for appearances and conventions. Due to extenuating health issues, he’s only had the use of one eye for quite some time. Recently that eye went as well, leaving him totally blind in both eyes and making it impossible for him to work.
“Thankfully he has insurance and just had surgery to reattach one of his retinas,” Drake continued. “The doctors are hopeful that this surgery will correct his left eye, and within the next few months he’ll be undergoing surgery on the other eye. Brad and I set up his GoFundMe to help with bills and day to day living expenses while he recovers. As people in the arts and entertainment industry, sight is so important, and we really do take it for granted.
“I also understand that times are tough right now for everyone, so if you can’t afford to donate, either signal boost for us by posting this elsewhere, or contact Bill and see how you can help—go visit, have a meal with him, anything. He’s done so much for so many people. I just really think it’s time to give back.
