“Your day is coming, you men destroyed my life and I will make you and your people pay for it.”

Take this report with a huge grain of salt, because her HIV status is not confirmed and it would appear extremely unlikely that this woman could be certain she infected all her sexual partners, particularly considering the relative difficulty of female-to-male transmission. Beyond that, the Kenyan publication reports that a man has made an anonymous claim stating that he knows and had sex with her.

A 19-year-old female college student at Kabarak University in Nakuru, Kenya has openly confessed to purposely infecting more than 300 men with HIV. According to the Kenyan Daily Post, the woman, who has name has not been disclosed, revealed that she was infected by a man when she attended a party. She also declared that her goal is to infect a total of “at least 2000 men.”

The publication reports that she contacted Kenyan Scandals via Facebook stating that she had a confession to make. Once she was assured her identity would be disclosed, she spoke freely about her actions. However, the publication retrieved a picture of her from her Facebook and ultimately published it along with the article.

Dubious of this story for about a hundred reasons. It’s what reporters used to call a “sailor story.” On a slow news day at the paper where I worked we’d print a fake letter to the editor from a woman declaring she’d rather see her daughter dead than married to a sailor. Made no sense at all but definitely stirred up the readers.

I suspect this item will turn out to have about as much substance as those letters.
