After failing in his attempt to rewrite his own bill, AB 640, during the last legislative session to turn it from a “veterans’ access to cigarettes” bill to a bill targeting adult movie production, California Assemblymember Isadore Hall (D – Compton) has introduced a new Condom Bill, AB 1576

Still on AHF's payroll I see. This measure fasces the same fate at at the last one. The legislature doesn't want to get into the business of regulating porn and using taxpayer money to do it. Nor is there any enthusiasm on the part of the governor's office or any state agency but the handful of anti-porn cranks at Cal-OSHA, for several of whom this is very much a personal crusade based on political ideology.
But for those who actually make the decision, this thing is a non-starter. But Hall will still undoubtedly pick up his checks from AHF for being their errand boy, even if he falls to deliver as he has twice already.
