BEIRUT: Internet providers are set to block access to six porn websites based on a decision issued Monday by the Lebanese Telecommunications Ministry.
Abdel Moneim Youssef, director general of state network owner & maintainer company Ogero, said the websites should be blocked “immediately,” urging distributors to fax the ministry and inform them of the results.
The websites were blocked due to complaints issued by families who were concerned over their content and their impact on societal decency, a source told The Daily Star.
The threat of child pornography was also mentioned given that three of the websites cater to a “teenager fetish.”
