From Queerty —
With the help of so-called “miracle drug” Truvada, porn mogul Michael Lucas has managed to convince a handful of major gay porn stars to slip out of their condoms and into some bareback encounters since launching Lucas Entertainment’s “Raw” line in September.
Most recently, Israeli stud Jonathan Agassi appeared (NSFW) in a hardcore bareback sex scene with Draven Torres, a porn star who, back in October, was having bareback sex with HIV-positive porn star and alleged pedophile Mike Dozer for Owen Hawk‘s Raw Fuck Club.
It’s silly to be shocked by the sudden switch, given the sheer volume of gay porn stars opting to remove their rubbers as of late, but it’s a decision that doesn’t agree with Agassi’s history of condom advocacy.
Just like Michael Lucas, Agassi has been a major supporter of condom use in porn. In a 2010 interview, he explicitly stated that bareback sex was “irresponsible“:
I will never participate in bare back gay porn… I said it before, I think porn is hot enough as it is… no need to legitimize irresponsibility, and I’m happy to be a part of company that supports condom use.
Gay porn performers having bareback sex don’t owe the world an explanation for their sex practices, but staunch condom advocates suddenly flipping their views do. If Agassi and Lucas are comfortable having bareback sex on film, why aren’t they comfortable talking about the things that motivated them to completely change their stance on condom use?
