New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Cunningham is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday in New Jersey in a “revenge porn” case involving a female friend, per Sports Illustrated.
New Jersey is one of 17 states with revenge porn laws on the books, and Cunningham was charged last December after a domestic dispute incident involving a former girlfriend.
The charge for the pictures involved “dissemination of images of a sexual nature to another person” without their consent. He was also charged with destroying a person’s clothing and unlawful transport of a .380-caliber handgun found in his car.
Cunningham, who was on injured reserve last season, has plead not guilty to all charges and his lawyer said he expects the player to be cleared.
