Contrary to Avenue Q’s musical number ‘The internet is for porn’, a video by Erik Qualman, author of Socialnomics, illustrates that social media has now overtaken porn as the biggest online activity.

The video looks at statistics, social media revolutions, and the way we are now using the internet.

One in five couples blame Facebook for their divorce; 69% of parents are friends with their children on social media; and Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears have more Twitter followers than the entire populations of Sweden, Israel, Greece, Chile, North Korea and Australia.
