ABC News points us to an editorial that claims nearly 10% of medical students in the UK, up from 6% in 2006, know someone who has participated in sex work in an effort to pay off the rising cost of medical school.

Prostitution is legal in the UK, though soliciting for sex and brothels are forbidden. The article also notes:

Couldn’t it just be one reallllly popular sex worker who gets to know everyone? Why not simply do a study on people who have worked in the sex industry instead of those who know someone who has? Either way, don’t forget to tip your stripper. He or she might save your life one day.
