Woman boarded up inside ‘massage parlour’ Lush in Hull’s Princes Avenue

A woman has been rescued after being trapped inside what is believed to have been an illegal massage parlour operating in the Avenues area of Hull.

The landlord of the building in Princes Avenue, above the Sainsbury’s store near the junction with Belvoir Street, is understood to have boarded up the property this morning.

Firefighters managed to remove the boarding covering up the door leading on to Princes Avenue.

However, Humberside Police and Humber Fire and Rescue Service were called out shortly before 11am this morning after people from the alleged massage parlour Lush reported a woman was still inside the boarded-up building.

Fire officers removed two boards covering the doorway and the woman, dressed in jeans and a black top, was led outside.

A man who said he worked for Lush but asked not to be named said: “The landlord had keys to the property and I find it ridiculous that they didn’t go inside to check if anyone was there before they put the boards up.

“It was a dangerous situation. If there had been a fire, she wouldn’t have been able to get out.”

At the weekend, a group of half-naked women were spotted shouting at passers-by in the street and throwing promotional leaflets as they leaned out of an open first-floor window.
