Bush Grafting: Women in Korea Getting Pubic Hair Transplants

The full bush seems to be having a bit of a resurgence.

There’s been a rumoured return to fuller pubic hair in the last couple of years, after a period of zero-tolerance down below in the mid to late-noughties.

Earlier this year, NY Mag reported an underground craze for full-bush Brazilian waxes across New York beauty salons.

Cameron Diaz has been banging on about keeping pubic hair natural for a while and even had a chapter called Praise of Pubes in her health manual released at the start of the year.

And now Refinery 29 says ‘bush grafting’ is a thing in Korea.

According to the report, flourishing pubic hair is seen as a sign of fertility and sexual health in Korea.

Now, thanks to a disorder called ‘pubic atrichosis’, defined by the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors as having ‘an insufficient amount of pubic hair,’ and estimated to affect around 10 per cent of Korean women, combined with changing room peer-pressure, women are increasingly turning to pubic hair transplants.

During the op, hair is taken from the head and planted into the lady garden. The procedure costs from around £1250 and takes two to four hours. Ouch.

We can’t help thinking that’s it’s a fou-fou frontier too far though. Can’t we all just learn to love our lady gardens just they way they are?
