Las Vegas (KSNV) — UPDATE: Legend posted a story on her Instagram Friday morning, stating she is safe and had left her belongings on the beach.
Authorities are actively searching for a 30-year-old woman from Las Vegas who recently went missing in California.
On Thursday, the US Coast Guard announced that local agencies are searching for a woman near Venice Beach after her personal belongings were found unattended on the sand south of the Venice Beach Pier on Wednesday evening.
The missing woman was later identified as a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, who is also known by the name “Loni Legend,” according to family.
Officials say the Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received a report at approximately 8:40 p.m. from the Los Angeles Police Department and a good Samaritan who discovered her phone, shoes, wallet, and passport left behind on the beach.
In response, the Coast Guard deployed rescue crews from Station Los Angeles-Long Beach and Air Station Ventura, and redirected the cutter Narwhal to search the surrounding waters.
