Nevada Brothel Weighs In On Canada’s Prostitution Bill

Pahrump, Nevada – Sheri’s Ranch, a licensed brothel and sex resort located outside of Las Vegas, has published a statement on the bordello’s blog, opining on C-36, the new prostitution Bill unveiled by Canadian government on June 4th.

The entire blog can be viewed here: http://blog.sherisranch.com/legal-prostitution/canada-prostitution-law/

The blog strongly suggests that Canada’s perspective on prostitution is fundamentally flawed, as it perceives all sex workers as victims and all customers as violent predators.

The brothel weighs in

“The Canadian Bill assumes that all prostitutes are working against their will, whether they know it or not, and that the best mode of action for these women is to leave the industry. This broad, fundamentally flawed perspective of sex workers is not only incorrect; it’s insulting to the millions of women across the globe who have embraced prostitution as an occupational choice” writes Jeremy Lemur, a spokesperson for the brothel.

Lemur goes on to suggest that the Canadian view of the clients of prostitutes is narrow and under-informed.

“The clientele of [prostitutes] are as diverse and varied as WalMart’s customers. A pleasant elderly gentleman who has recently lost his wife and seeks a compassionate encounter to remind him that he is still worthy of an embrace, a handicapped individual in his twenties — escorted by his parents — who wants to discreetly lose his virginity, an adventurous couple looking for a safe tryst with a third party; these are the ‘predatory monsters’ who seek the services of prostitutes”

The spokesperson adds that “The Nevada model provides a venue where well-intentioned customers seeking sexual fulfillment will be treated with dignity and respect. The proposed Canadian model assumes that such people don’t deserve respect.”

About Sheri’s Ranch

Located in Pahrump, Nevada, sixty miles west of Las Vegas, Sheri’s Ranch is Nevada’s first and only full-service legal sex resort. The Ranch was purchased by former Chicago homicide detective Chuck Lee in 2001 and was remodeled into a fantasyland of bungalows and specialty rooms with a variety of titillating themes. With a hotel and restaurant on the property, Lee and his exemplary staff have taken great care to maintain a resort playground with the clients’ safety, privacy, and satisfaction in mind.
