In the pantheon of liars, there are the greats, there’s everyone else who’s ever told a lie… and then there’s Patrick Stone.
After perjuring himself to get a court to issue a TRO against TRPWL‘s Michael Whiteacre, AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Patrick Stone finally got his day in court on Friday.
It didn’t end well.
Restraining Order denied, matter dismissed with prejudice.
We hear that the highlight of the day was Michael Whiteacre reading aloud his one and only email to Cope, sent Aug 17th as he stood outside the AHF/Out of The Closet store in San Francisco.
Once Whiteacre finished reading the electronic communication, the judge turned to Cope and said, “That doesn’t sound very threatening to me.”
UPDATE: Here is a statement from Michael Whiteacre on his triumph over David Cope/Patrick Stone in the Civic Center Courthouse of the San Francisco Superior Court this morning;
Today, Dept 514 of the San Francisco Superior Court found that AHF employee David Cope a.k.a. Patrick Stone did not have an adequate basis to sustain an order of protection against me, because he could not show that I posed any genuine threat of harm to him.
Judge Dorfman also rejected Cope’s argument that I am “not a journalist”, and further noted that he lacked the power to place a prior restraint on my First Amendment right to write about Cope/Stone.
Today was a vindication of not only myself as a journalist, but also of TRPWL.com. I’m elated by the judge’s ruling, even though, in my mind, the outcome of this farce was never in doubt.
AHF employee David Cope a.k.a. Patrick Stone is a liar. This whole fanciful story of his was cooked up in a clumsy attempt to stifle my ability to report on the lies and dirty tricks AHF has used against adult performers, producers, and the general public. Fortunately, like everything else these clowns have tried, this attempt to intrude upon my rights has failed conclusively.
I’d like to thank my attorney, Jennie Stepanian for handling today’s trial so masterfully, and I commend Judge Dorfman for seeing through David Cope’s thin tissue of lies and making a just ruling.
