Some fanboy writer is currently reading this and saying “No TRPWL, women are the most powerful group in porn, if I promote them they give me sex.”
Yes, cuz you’re a trick. You’re the guy in the strip club who thinks the strippers like him. We laugh at you.
That aside, If women have power, why is it APAG, APAC and now BIPOC, individually and collectively have accomplished nothing, other than putting a little money in their own pockets. They are all run by women, in and out of porn.
Why? Because they hold no real influence over day to day operations in the adult industry. Sure, they get press, but so does James Bartholet, that doesn’t mean they’ve actually ever accomplished anything.
Yes TRPWL, but we still need women. Of course we do. My answer to that is two fold, 1. new girls show up every day, more then half are turned away by agencies, and 2. women in general are a jealous group of people. In porn, it’s even worse, since the women outnumber the men 5-1. They need every booking they can get. So the chances of women collectively joining forces and saying “we aren’t gonna do this or that until this happens” is pretty slim.
The bottom line, women are easily replaced in porn. I’m not saying all women performers, there’s a solid 25-30 girls who take their scenes above and beyond. But for the most part, women are a spoke on the porn wheel, if one breaks, it’s easily replaceable. Look how many girls come and go? They show up, get some work, and are gone in 6 months.
Yes TRPWL, but what about the white guys? Look, mopes like Billy Boston get off the bus everyday looking for work, but if Billy ever put his foot down, no one would notice. The 9th guy in a gang bang can easily be replaced by a Rick Madrid or a Jessy Jones.
When it comes to solid white male performers, this list isn’t very long, and 1/4 of them aren’t even from the US. White male performers, joining forces in an effort to affect change won’t ever happen. Why? They have been conditioned to think they are the ones who can easily can be replaced. When in fact, that’s simply not the case.
Sure, there are guys begging to be male performers. But most have no real clue of what it takes.
Being a successful male performer is a little different then iPhoning your GF giving you a blow job and uploading it to Pornhub. Even on a Quasar set, you’re still looking at a couple hours of a having camera in your asshole. Keeping your dick hard while the camera guy can tell what kind of toilet paper you used is no easy feat.
Don’t believe me, go pick your favorite female performer, pull her scene list, and see how many DIFFERENT guys she’s worked with in the last year. Unless shes only shooting gangbangs, that list won’t be very diverse.
Now, go pull Isiah Maxwell’s.
To shoot an IR scene, in porn anyway, you need a black guy, or to be politically correct, a Person of Color.
Even a racist nut like Axel Braun, needs black male talent once a year.
Prince, Isiah, Rob, Ricky, Rico, Jax account for well over 50% of all “IR” scenes, add Prince’s Agency, and that number probably exceeds 75% .
If one day, they said we aren’t shooting until? There would be serious repercussions. Guys like that, not as black men, but just as performers, are hard to replace. Add skin tone and it’s damn near impossible.
They could shut down a whole genre, or at a minimum being it almost to a halt.
What people like Demi doesn’t realize is, while she may not be happy with her rate, there are a lot of black performers who command a higher rate than their white counterpart. To put that in perspective, most male performers earn roughly 4-600 per scene, work 3 times a week if they’re lucky.
The guys I named above, make twice that amount and work more. In fact, there are females that pull over 1000 a scene, and upwards of 1200 for a BG, which is a couple hundred above their white counterparts… but that’s a story for another day.
So when people ask me, why aren’t the “black” guys joining all the performer organizations, the answer is simple. They don’t have to. They realize their worth, and accept nothing less. Which at the end of the day is all your rate is, what you think you’re worth.
But image if they decided one day to say fuck it. The fanboy reporter would have to begrudgingly write about how 8-10 guys changed the industry. I say begrudgingly because there would be NO sexual favors involved in the writing of that story.
