Actress at Thane Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday in connection with a complaint filed against her
MUMBAI – Porn-star-turned Bollywood actoress Sunny Leone, gave her statement to the Thane police in the “indecency case” a housewife has registered against her. Leone told the police it is inappropriate to link her past with her present.
“The objectionable video clips circulating here belong to when I was working in the adult film industry in the US. I have distanced myself from any such roles after becoming a part of the Indian film fraternity. I feel it would be improper to haunt me with the past when I am trying to move ahead in life,” Leone, an Indian-origin Canadian, was quoted by a source as telling the police.
The complaint against her was registered by Anjali Palan, a member of a right-wing outfit, at the Ramnagar police station on May 15. Leone was summoned to the Thane police headquarters as the cyber cell, which is probing the matter, is based there.
Along with her bodyguards, she drove down to the HQ around 1.45pm and headed straight to the office of DCP (crime) Parag Manere. The actor recorded her statement in the presence of Manere and investigation officer Jagdish Sawant in English for over an hour.
A source said Leone disclosed personal details, including her current place of work and home address in Mumbai.
