Investigators are looking into whether top Thruway Authority officials used their state phones to make arrangements with call girls, the Daily News has learned.
The News first reported in December that the state inspector general was finalizing a bombshell investigation into the Thruway Authority that is said to reach the highest levels of the organization.
At the time, its focus was unclear.
But now two sources from outside the IG’s office with knowledge of the investigation say it pertains to prostitution.
It’s unclear how many people are being looked at. But sources say it is believed that at least one and maybe more used their office phones or work cellphones to arrange the meetings.
