LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) – As a result of a complaint filed by a parolee, registered sex offenders will no longer have to post signs on their doors on Halloween.
The complaint which was filed in federal court challenged a rule put in place by the Department Of Corrections. The report stated that all registered sex offenders must put a sign up reading “We Do Not Participate In Trick Or Treating, Please Do Not Disturb”.
The parolee challenged the rule saying it violated his constitutional rights. The case was dismissed Monday after State Corrections officials agreed to drop the rule.
