Did Twitter Bullying Lead To August Ames’s Death?

Over the last few days August spoke her mind about canceling a scene she’s was booked for.. the male talent in that scene was a crossover

That tweet lead to an onslaught of hateful tweets, by a bevy or adult industry workers. Once again showing that sex workers aren’t as tolerant as they claim they are. In a profession where choice is an inherent right, it’s sad that people have no respect for people who feel like they are doing what’s best for their own bodies. Drake, who shoots condom only really has no horse in this race.

These are just some of the 80 plus tweets I counted over the course of this conversation.

While I’m not gonna come right out and blame anyone, I think this is one of those times were WE all need take step back and reevaluate how we react to people we disagree with on twitter.

I myself am guilty of saying some fucked Up shit to people, although I’ve mellowed over the years, I can still be an asshole.

  • Pretty sad and shitty to see all of this. I'm ashamed of Jessica as that's someone I actually admire in the industry. Jaxton is a real scumbag. We see this shit all the time though unfortunately. And this time it led to someone to go over the edge.

  • I thought her initial comment was incredibly misguided and it was absolutely right for her to have received some blowback (if only because she HAS repeatedly worked with crossover talent). Logan Moore in particular is right: everyone has a NO list. She chose to publicize that particular choice of hers to make a point so she cannot have expected for people not to react.

However some of the comments shown here are absolutely appalling. People seem to forget that behind the computer screen is a real person and even someone who thinks something that offends you should not be wished ill upon.

We don't know what happened and losing a life at 23 is always tragic. May she RIP.

  • @Griffin

Indeed, Jaxton Wheeler is a horrendous person.
Not sure if I am missing something but Jessica was simply arguing the initial point (and, again, AA did not have to publicize her choice so if she did, she wanted people to know her opinion and others are entitled to let her know they disagree). You can argue whether you agree with one or the other but Jessica's response was not personal and a perfectly reasonable rejoinder.
The line between disagreement and abuse is not *that* hard to see and I think we are mixing reasonable Tweets with disgusting ones here.

  • Unfuckingbelievable. Wheeler literally told Ames to take a "cionide" pill (there's nothing quite like showing your level of education while engaging in moral grandstanding), and is now backpedaling fiercely, saying "no one told her to do anything harmful to herself." This is delusional thinking. While we do not (and possibly will not) know the real reasons for her suicide, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that a lot of these virtue-signaling fucks have blood on their hands. The fact that so many are in a mad scramble to delete tweets is proof of this.

  • everyone is missing the point. SHE WASN'T BEING TOLD that she was working with crossover talent! Read her initial tweet. She was warning her replacement that Derrik wouldn't tell her the full history of the man she would be working with. Derrik not telling the girls is ILLEGAL! He can lose his license over this. That's why the spin was applied to shift the focus to homophobia! Get a few girls together and sue his ass before the new law goes into effect making it a misdemeanor to not disclose hiv status prior to sex.

  • Alexis didn't say anything bad and Jessica wasn't mean, maybe she was lecturing to much. Some of the other people said some horrible things.
