• What I want to know is why the IRS hasn't gotten around to auditing Ms. Lubben's returns. She's not only a menace, she's a scam artist. A homeless person can go to jail for stealing a slice of pizza and this woman continues to live a life of luxury at the expense of both those she claims to help and those who pay extra taxes because she gets to keep all her money.

  She's dangerous, as we can clearly see from this story, and utterly corrupt as we've seen demonstrated over and over and yet she remains untouchable to all authority.

  That is both a crime and a shame.

• You need to put quotes around "success" in the title.

• I'm not going to attack Shelley. I will say this - when I formed our program Sex Workers Anonymous back in 1987 people came in to us asking for help. I couldn't just hug them and say "it's all going to be better" and call that help. I needed to have answers if I was going to put our phone number up and ask people to "call for help". I only had my own personal recovery in that I had achieved two years clean and out of the sex industry. However, how I did this is not a "formula" for others nor was I completely well either by a long shot from what I'd endured.

  So I formed a "mentor board" first of all. I collected founders of other 12 step programs, and people who had been sponsored or worked with founders who had passed on. I gathered together people who worked at the world service offices of other 12 step groups, and people who had been therapists to prostitutes for years. I found a woman who had been donating therapy to prostitutes in the Sybil Brand Institute (jail) for over 10 years. I found the head of Addictions Studies in Los Angeles who had ground breaking research into the neurology of addiction beyond substances - but into behaviors and also who knew about clinical depression and PTSD. I gathered together experts in PTSD, brainwashing, eating disorders, sexual addiction, and I formed this board into a group where I spent over a year meeting often, almost daily, with these mentors. I went to the groups they took me to in order to teach me what they knew. No one had worked with helping prostitutes with what we dubbed "post prostitution syndrome" before us - so there had been no "treatment" developed yet that we knew worked.

  I did the studies on over 4,000 male and female prostitutes like they asked me to in both legal and illegal industries. We set up experiments over six month periods of time and we found out what worked and what didn't. We sure as hell found out the traditional methods of both AA and many churches sure didn't help. In fact they were quite harmful. We found that many prostitutes when exposed to the churches and AA methods they in fact became suicidal. But we had a safety net and continued to work with our members until we found a system that did work.

  Now we have members who have been with us since that first year who are still clean, still out of sex work - and have not substituted into another form of self- destructive behavior. If you want to read more about our history - check out my facebook page. Now finding what did in fact "work" for "us" didn't just plop into my lap. I found many therapists were now asking me for training to help them learn what was working because when a prostitute typically goes into drug treatment - it mostly doesn't work. In fact, if you watch each show of Dr. Drew when he works with sex workers - not one of them has gotten clean from his systems. Yet when I went to him and suggested that maybe he needed to put the sex workers in a Sex Workers Anonymous meeting and maybe spend five minutes talking with me about what did work - he always refused to come to the phone. And women like Heidi Fleiss was busted recently on a DUI with 400 pot plants in her house - and she had a car crash on the way home from Celebrity Rehab!

  I have repeatedly tried to ask for a meeting with Shelley to see what she is offering these women she does outreach to in the way of a program to help them heal. I look at her site and I see plenty of things for sale. I see plenty of requests for money. I see plenty of her "outreach" projects. Yet I have not seen one single word about what she offers these women once they say "ok". I've read the outline of her trainings - and again not one word about the actual program she offers these women. I also find it downright sexist that she doesn't do outreach to the men in this industry who have just as high of a suicide rate after entering porn then the women - and in fact have even less options for help. But I guess it doesn't mean a big fat check when you're asking for help for a man who is trying to quit vs. the cute little blond girl.

  I saw the saddest video recently on youtube where she put up death after death after death of these porn stars. Yet my site has quote after quote after quote from men and women who have said that "this program saved my life". Yet her and her minions bark around my heels like chiwauwau's trying to shut me up because they don't want people noticing that she in fact offers up no information on what type of program she offers her members.

  She has admitted being an addict - yet I never see her in meetings. I never see her talking about a sponsor, nor speaking about her step work. Anyone knows that if you're an addict and you don't work a program you are going to use again and possibly act out in a dry drunk. To a prostitute or porn star who is an addict - a "dry drunk" for us is that we look, act, and live just like we're back in the sex industry only we aren't. You tell me after looking at her website what profession she looks like she's in right now to your eyes.

  I've received calls from some of the women connected with her group that if what they tell me is true - it's downright a sham what's going on over there. Of course Shelley says she's just being "set up" by the porn industry. Here's what I'm trying to understand. I've had more than one group and pimp and crooked cop and people from competing groups (in their mind because I'm not competing with anyone) try and "set me up" over the years = only to no avail. How come when something looks bad with some of these group's - it's the first thing they say "I was set up". But if anyone asks us for help - we do have a program we've developed that has shown itself to work. It took years and a lot of money and people to develop this program, and we've followed our members over 30 years now to show it does work long term.

  • Lubben has no program, because she has no legitimate credentials -- just diploma mill degrees and a "masters" AND a "doctorate" obtained in about a year from a local bible college.

    She also does not believe in 12-step programs and the like -- she claims they were too much work for her. She admits she dropped out of the program many years ago. She simply underwent an alleged spiritual "rebirth" at a church and ministry training facility called the Champions Centre in Tacoma, WA. Shelley also brags about how she was miraculously cured of all her weaknesses and ailments by God and Jesus Christ -- everything from herpes to addiction.

    Lubben has rationalized her addiction with a delusion: God says it's okay if I behave just as I did when I was a drug-addcted, alcoholic call girl -- in fact, He NEEDS me to act this way, so that adult performers can "relate" to me.
