Mr. Gross is referring to assertions made in Dennis Romero’s scathing LA Weekly profile of Shelley Lubben. In that article, Crissy Moran of the outreach group Treasures (who was at one time, albeit briefly, affiliated with Lubben — and whose speaking voice Lubben mocked) was asked about Lubben by Romero at a screening of After Porn Ends. Moran declined to bad-mouth Lubben directly, but said, “We’re not anti-porn. We are pro-women. Crissy Moran didn’t have anything good to say about her in the LA Weekly piece, either. The only groups that Lubben can get to return her calls are Morality in Media and Girls Against Porn — in other words, fanatics who pander to the lowest common denominator of prejudice and fear.
