Dorcel, the major international player in pleasure for all, is pleased to announce that AVN & XBIZ award-winning performer Anna Polina has stepped behind the camera to helm her first feature for the company. Starring French beauty Carollina Cherry and AVN, XBIZ, and XCritic Female Foreign Performer of the Year nominee Cléa Gaultier, Second Chance is now available on DVD in the United States from Pulse Distribution.
In her first major role for Dorcel, Carollina portrays Alexandra, a thirty-something businesswoman who appears to have it all – a nice career, loyal friends, a physique that turns heads and a wonderful fiancé with whom she owns a thriving real estate company.
One morning, her fiancé Gabriel (Ricky Mancini), leaves their business – and their relationship – with no advance warning, throwing away the five years they spent together. After this unexpected breakup, Alexandra crosses paths with Laura (Cléa Gaultier), a pretty yoga teacher who lives her life by a simple mandate: We are all deserving of pleasure. Laura introduces Alexandra to her group of friends, and invites her to move into her apartment. Under Laura’s tutelage, Alexandra is reborn emotionally, intellectually, and sexually into a world that is fun, ethical, empowering, and 100% shame-free.
Critical response to Anna Polina’s passion project has been uniformly positive in both the mainstream and adult spaces. As reviewers on IMDb have noted, “Carollina Cherry earlier had a supporting role in the Dorcel feature Anna, the Influencer, starring Anna Polina, and now Anna spotlights her as the heroine of her first feature film as director, Second Chance. It’s a triumph for both ladies. The casting is astute, as Carollina projects a natural, earthy personality that is instantly empathetic for the viewer, and an effective departure from the Dorcel standard of ultra-glamorous, statuesque actresses like Clea and Anna. As for Polina, her directorial debut is well-shot with careful attention to detail, eliciting warm performances from her female leads.”
In addition to Gaultier and Cherry, Polina’s film features a first-rate supporting cast: Ania Kinski, Axel Reed, Clara Mia, David Perry, Jpx, Michael Cherito, and Polina herself in a key non-sex role.
“For her very first directing job for Dorcel, Anna Polina delivers a touching story that is very close to reality,” Dorcel announced in a prepared statement. “She presents the life of a young woman in her thirties for whom a breakup is not a fatality and who has only one desire – to give her own happiness a second chance.”
“Second Chance really was a dream project for Anna Polina,” adds Daniel Metcalf, Dorcel’s U.S. Publicist. “While the specifics of the story may not be autobiographical, Anna drew from some lived-in experiences and aspects of life in both Russia and Europe, and this approach created a sense of reality and intimacy that can be felt off-screen. As a filmmaker, Anna’s style is very original and extremely inclusive. The cinematography and camera work, the storyline, the diverse body types, the authentic sex…Anna celebrates people celebrating themselves.”
