Posting explicit videos of others on the web without their consent will be punishable by up to five years in prison
The Times of Israel reports:
A new law drafted by Knesset member Yifat Kariv (Yesh Atid party) targeting revenge porn was approved by the Knesset plenum on Monday and is aimed at preventing the distribution of some pornographic content over the Internet.
The law, which targets sexually explicit media posted without the depicted person’s knowledge or consent, also covers content shared on social media.
It stipulates that those found guilty of posting such content will be prosecuted as sexual offenders, while those who are targeted will be recognized as victims of sexual assault.
The crime will henceforth be punishable by up to five years in prison.

This kind of law normally gives me the creeps, as they tend to be camel-noses (as distinct from camel toes) under the tent. But when it comes to revenge porn I make an exception to my First Amendment absolutism. It is an assault of a sexual nature using a technological intermediary but nevertheless an assault of a sexual nature.
And in Israel you can bet they’ll enforce as they rightly should.
