Liberals Bully Gay Republican Candidate

There is an obvious truth in US politics. Democrats support gays and Republicans do not. At least that is the story put out by Democrats and the media.

The problem is that a qualifier must along with that statement. The gay people must also be democrats. If they have a ounce of conservativism in them, if they show any signs of being able to think for themselves, then the liberal democrats and their LGBT lapdogs will pull out the hatred and their “how to destroy a gay man” playbook faster than you can say “sexual orientation.”

That is the way they play gay politics in America.

Ironically, liberals extend their much vaunted “compassion and tolerance” to “their people.”

Carl DeMaio, an openly gay candidate for California’s 52nd Congressional District. He claims liberals have been trashing him simply because he’s a Republican.

Appearing on the NewsMax Steve Malzberg Show said, “I don’t wear my orientation on my sleeve, it’s who I am. But it doesn’t define the thorough breadth of what I am in terms of a leader for San Diego.”

Multiple groups are trying to disrupt the DeMaio campaign, including a number of left-leaning groups such as lesbian, bisexual and transgender activists.

“My view is that the left is using social issues as a shiny distraction object because they don’t want to talk about issues like fiscal reform, economic prosperity, government accountability, because if they did, they would lose elections.” – Carl DeMaio

DeMaio calls himself a new-generation Republican. In one political attack, DaMaio’s picture was Photoshopped next to that of a drag queen. “It’s a standard set of talking point to demonize the Republican Party. Let’s put on the record that the Republican Party has its fair share of problems it’s got to deal with on these issues, and that’s why I call myself.”

DaMaio mentioned several groups that attacked him. None of them made any comment about it. DeMaio said, “These progressive activists are willing to put aside what they claim to want to achieve for LGBT Americans in the name of partisan politics. But I am going to continue to be who I am, which is, I am for inclusion and acceptance and diversity in the Republican Party around a message of reform, fiscal reform, economic prosperity, government accountability.”

Apparently, In May, Barack Obama will campaign against DeMaio, for the white, middle aged straight democrat. So much for tolerance and support!

Will gay activist, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi defend DeMaio? Not likely. Nancy only cares about gays when they toe the Democrat line.

This is an exceedingly dumb article, and I’m not sure why you gave it digital ink. It’s completely and utterly disingenuous.

“Gay Republican claims liberal opponents should totally support him because he’s gay. ‘I thought liberals for gay rights,’ said DeMaio. ‘Well how about the right for this gay guy right here to be in charge of stuff? Hypocrites!'”

I attempted to find the photoshopped drag queen ad with no success, but I did find out that it was from 2012 and put out by an “anonymous group of [Demaio’s then opponent] supporters”.

Ugh politics.

I’m with Lily on this. Members of oppressed minorities who side with the oppressors are trying to run with the foxes and hunt with the hounds. I have zero sympathy for them when their hypocrisy is exposed. The politics of getting a fair deal for marginalized groups are always tough and they need to be. The other side certainly feels no obligation to be nice and play fair. If picket lines hadn’t played rough with scabs there would never have been an organized labor movement in this country and since unions have largely stopped stepping up to the bosses and… Read more »

So let me get this straight….Democrats in California, who already have a supermajority, are supposed to defend a Republican from attacks merely because he’s gay?? Never mind the fact that he’s an actual Republican??

Maybe he’d be better off attempting to get his own party off the Tea Party cliff before they fall into the abyss.
