Michael Whiteacre (born September 25, 1967) is an American director, screenwriter, editor, composer, producer, and film distributor. He is a native of in Brooklyn, New York.
Whiteacre is best known as the distributor of the films of others, such as Play-Mate Of The Apes, The Witches Of Breastwick, Lord Of The G-Strings, Busty Cops, Busty Cops 2, Spiderbabe, Gladiator Eroticus, and Lust Connection.
An independent film distributor since 1997, Whiteacre began working in the production of erotic films in 2003, when he re-cut his client, Los Angeles-based Digital Entertainment, Inc.’s Busty Cops to bring it up to release standards. Whiteacre subsequently had some unspecified hand in the pre-production of Digital’s Busty Cops 2 and Alabama Jones And The Busty Crusade. In January 2004, he directed his first scenes, for Digital Entertainment’s pay-per-view title Suite Nikki Nova, in Las Vegas, after director Jim Wynorski left the set to go on a date. The project’s cast included adult film stars Shyla Stylez, Friday, Kelle Marie, Satine Diamond and Vivica Vengeance.
In February, Digital completed Suite Nikki Nova on location in Hawaii, minus Whiteacre, and also shot most Alabama Jones And The Busty Crusade. When the production company returned to Los Angeles, Whiteacre produced his first solo directorial effort, Call Girl Wives, during the days that the rented camera and lighting packages were not being used to film Busty Cops 2. Whiteacre put up half of the budget, and produced the movie, which starred Amanda Auclair (also known as Shyla Stylez), Tamie Hannum, Ashley Long, Brittany Andrews and Kelle Marie, as a co-venture with Digital Entertainment. The following month, Whiteacre, through his company, Select Sinema, produced the erotic suspense movie Sexual Suspects (retitled Sexy Suspects for its U.S. pay-TV release), which teamed Auclair and Hannum with Jessica Jaymes and Holly Hollywood.
Later in 2004, Whiteacre supervised the editing of Busty Cops 2 and Alabama Jones And The Busty Crusade, the latter of which had been left unfinished by its director Jim Wynorski, also known as H.R. “Harold” Blueberry. In the summer of 2004, Whiteacre once again assembled Auclair and Hannum, in Sylmar, Los Angeles, California to shoot a nine-minute sequence with cinematographer Jane Waters to complete Alabama Jones. The same day, he also shot a brief pick-up scene for Call Girl Wives. Another, longer, pick-up scene was shot on the set of Jim Wynorski’s movie, The Witches Of Breastwick (which Whiteacre also distributed to U.S. television and home video), featuring Hannum and Breastwick’s Julie K. Smith. Whiteacre then
edited the trailers for Digital’s slate of new films, and subsequently distributed the movies to U.S.
and foreign television and home video.
In February 2005, Whiteacre directed the supernatural erotic thriller Lust Eternal, starring Nikita Denise, Sunny Lane, Friday and Chasey Lain, and in March began work on three concurrent projects with Digital Entertainment: Busty Cops: Back In Time parts 1 and 2 (featuring a veritable “who’s who” of erotic performers), and Call Girl Daughters (starring Taryn Thomas, Kimberly Kane, Aimee Sweet, Friday, Jessica Jaymes, Hannah Harper, Kaylani Lei, Layla Jade and Nicki Hunter). The fruits of the production were tied up for four years in a dispute which ended when an abridged version of the Busty Cops sequels, condensed into one nearly plotless movie, Busty Cops: Protect And Serve!, was released to American television. Although the released movie guts Whiteacre’s scenario, which was a time travel parody of the Back to the Future, as well as Wonderland, Boogie Nights, and Army of Darkness, among others, most of the remaining scenes are as Whiteacre cut them in 2005. Jim Wynorski added a painful Dragnet-style narration in 2009 in an attempt (largely unsuccessful) to cover up the cracks.
Following the Busty Cops/Call Girl Daughters debacle, Whiteacre directed two more films as works-for-hire, which were credited to another alias, and then left film production in 2006 to tend to business interests in Arizona. He returned to Los Angeles in late 2009, Call Girl Wives was re-released on American pay-per-view television, and he began work on a new production slate.
In April 2010, Free Speech Coalition released two Public Service Announcements on the topic of internet piracy of adult content directed and co-written by Whiteacre. The first spot, entitled the “FSC All-Star Anti-Piracy PSA, featured a cast of thirteen adult industry performers and directors such as Lisa Ann, Kimberly Kane, Ron Jeremy, Julie Meadows, Axel Braun and Wicked Pictures contract stars Alektra Blue and Kaylani Lei. The second, entitled, “FSC Turn A Frown Upside-Down PSA” was a solo tour-de-force for adult performer Charlie Laine.
In February 2011, Whiteacre and co-creator Julie Meadows, also known as Lydia Lee, released the first two episodes of their documentary exposť of Pink Cross Foundation founder and anti-pornography crusader Shelley Lubben, entitled The Devil and Shelley Lubben, featuring commentary by Nina Hartley, Kayden Kross,
Melissa Monet, Monica Foster, Danny Wylde, Guy DiSilva. It is narrated
by Samantha Phillips.
