Two men seeking to rent a room posted on Craigslist discovered the homeowner to be dead Saturday after his 4-year-old son answered the door in tears saying that he could not wake his father.
Daniel Anca and Matei Craciun made the discovery in Bellevue, Wash., KMVT reported Monday.
Interviews with the young boy led police to determine that the 35-year-old man had been dead for some 24 to 48 hours, according to the Associated Press.
The boy is currently staying with his grandparents.
“Who knows what might’ve happened to the kid if we didn’t find out about this place, Craciun told KMVT.
The man’s cause of death is yet to be determined, but police do not suspect foul play, according to local television station KING.
