Male Talent Jay Hefner was sadly killed this past weekend in Lincoln, a fact confirmed by his colleagues and associates within the industry.
A fundraiser organized by Hefner’s family indicates that he lost his life “due to an unnecessary act of gun violence while attempting to protect his cousin from physical harm in Lincoln,” during a visit for a family birthday celebration.
The Lincoln Police Department has since corroborated the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.
In their official statement, they reported, “On Sunday, September 8, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the 100 block of North 11th Street.” Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Both individuals were immediately transported to a local hospital for urgent medical attention.
“Despite prompt life-saving measures administered by medical personnel, the victim—a 24-year-old man from Lincoln—succumbed to his injuries around 5:37 a.m.”
