Agnes Bruckner has won the plum role in Lifetime’s upcoming bio-pic after long search.
The Private Practice star has been cast to portray Vicky Lynn Hogan, the plain and simple country town girl who became the voluptuous poster girl of sexiness, Anna Nicole Smith.
The 27-year-old Agnes had a radically different upbringing from Smith.
Born in Hollywood, California to immigrant parents – her father is Hungarian and her mother is Russian – Agnes first thought of becoming a dancer until bit by the acting bug as a child.
Agnes, who speaks Hungarian fluently, started acting at age 11 in commercials and on The Bold and The Beautiful in 1999.
At 15, Agnes won her first starring role in Blue Car, in which she played a student who has an affair with her teacher.
The exotic-looking actress has also appeared in The Glass House, Murder By Numbers starring Sandra Bullock, Blood and Chocolate and in 2011, The Craigslist Killer’s, also a Lifetime production.
Perhaps there’s one thing Agnes has in common with Anna Nicole – as a child Agnes entered a beauty pageant at her mother’s suggestion.
The Lifetime film will chronicle Vicky Lynn Hogan’s rise to fame and her transformation into the Guess model and finally star of The Anna Nicole Smith Show on E!
But fame came with a price for Anna Nicole.
Anna Nicole died in 2007 of a drug overdose at age 39.
The star’s death was followed by a bitter paternity suit between Howard K. Stern, Smith’s partner at the time, and Larry Birkhead, her ex.
Birkhead was finally awarded custody of his and Anna Nicole’s daughter, Dannielynn, now 5.
