UPDATE on the adult production hold announced Thursday —
At this hour, all adult performers who might potentially be at risk of exposure have been contacted.
The results of confirmatory testing on the performer who received a tentative HIV-positive result, and testing of all individuals on that performer’s first generation exposure list (on camera and off), are expected to be complete by sometime on Saturday, Oct 18.
Persistent rumors that this case is local — i.e., in the Los Angeles area — are unfounded. TRPWL can confirm that a public health department not in the LA area is working with FSC/PASS on this situation.
An update from Free Speech Coalition on the production hold is expected later today or early tomorrow with more details.
Thursday, the FSC called for a three-day hold of production while it investigates a possible positive HIV exposure on an adult set.
Diane Duke, head of the Free Speech Coalition, stated, “As with past production holds, we ask that people refrain from speculation until more news is forthcoming, and respect performer privacy. We are currently working with the public health department, the production company, and the performer, and will alert as more information is available.”
The Free Speech Coalition periodically calls production holds and moratorium if there is a possible risk of HIV within the adult film community. Moratoriums are an important part of the safety protocols in adult film, but does not signal an actual on-set transmission. The adult film industry has not seen an on-set transmission of HIV in over ten years.
For more information on the moratorium, updates will be posted to the FSC-PASS website and the FSC blog.
