Washington, May 26 : A photoshopped photo in the recent issue of Hustler magazine depicting conservative commentator S.E. Cupp performing oral sex has sparked outrage among women on the ABC show ‘The View’. Whoopi Goldberg, one of the co-hosts of the daytime talk show, said that Cupp, who writes for the New York Daily News, is a “friend of ‘The View,'” and that the picture in Hustler “is really going to piss a lot of you women off.”
Cupp, 33, appeared in the audience and told the hosts that she was “horrified” when she saw the explicit picture. There was a disclaimer on the page saying that the photo was not real.
Larry Flynt, who published the magazine, said the photo was satirical.
Seen in this censored photo, a photoshopped explicit image published in Hustler magazine shows S.E. Cupp engaged in a sex act.
Goldberg said that was not enough.
“Whether you’re conservative or a Democrat, this is not OK,” ABC News quoted her as saying on the show.
“This is offensive. This is not the dialogue that we have when we disagree,” she said.
“It’s not funny in any way. It’s offensive and horrifying and we’re sorry that they did,” co-host Joy Behar said.
“We know her for years. I love her. She’s a darling girl and this is just disgusting,” Behar added.
Cupp said that the photo was an explicit attack on her conservative politics. She is a commentator for Mercury Radio Arts, which is owned by Glenn Beck.
“I was horrified,” Cupp said.
“It was disgusting and, even though I didn’t actually do that, by the end of the day, I felt ashamed as if I had.
“And knowing this photo will be out there forever. My children will see it when I have them one day. It’s sad. I’m sad,” she said.
Cupp said she would likely not sue Flynt or Hustler because of “free speech.”
She said she had received support from Planned Parenthood and Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University graduate student who was lambasted by Rush Limbaugh as a “slut” and a “prostitute” for her support of the Obama health care mandate for providing contraception. (ANI)
