One former porn star is gaining national attention not for what’s on her body, but what’s on her head.
Jessica Steinhauser, also known as Asia Lemmon, wore a spaghetti strainer on her head while posing for her Utah’s driver’s license in what she’s calling a “proud” moment for her state’s freedom of religion rights.
Her use of a metal colander as a religious headpiece follows those seen worn among members of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which identifies itself as an interfaith “religion.” Its members are humorously referred to as “Pastafarians.”
“I’m a really proud, outspoken atheist,” the St. George resident recently told The Spectrum. “I am proud of Utah for allowing freedom of all religions in what is considered by many to be a one-religion state.”
With Lemmon’s newly minted license she becomes the first Pastafarian in her state to exercise her freedom of religion in such a way and the fourth nationwide.
