Irish sex workers reach out after Frances Fitzgerald gave strongest indication yet she’s to change Ireland’s prostitution laws
An Irish sex worker is calling on the Minister for Justice to meet with women working in the industry.
It comes after Minister Frances Fitzgerald revealed yesterday that the Government intends to bring in new laws, making it illegal to pay for sex.
The Sex Workers Alliance of Ireland claims this new law will drive prostitutes further underground, forcing them to take on more dangerous clients to make ends meet.
Spokesperson Kate McGrew is a sex worker currently featuring on reality TV series “Connected”.
She says her livelihood is at risk if the new laws are passed.
