“My inspiration for the series was really just because I wanted to make some cool looking stuff. I had these ideas and couldn’t figure out how I could fit them into a standard movie. I then realized that is one of the reasons why I started my own company – so I could shoot the type of content I wanted and not be forced to have it fit within any standardized norms,” Deen said.
The entire series, which includes past titles “Gluttony,” “Greed,” “Pride,” “Lust,” “Envy,” “Sloth,” is also now available exclusively on JamesDeen.com before it reaches stores. The popular films tell decidedly sexual stories surrounding the Seven Deadly Sins. Each volume stars Deen with a slew of highly popular performers, such as Alektra Blue, Katie St. Ives, Sara Luvv, Dahlia Sky, Dana DeArmond, Dana Vespoli, Chanel Preston, Chloe Foster, and many others.
Dubbed the “permanent crush of all straight ladydom” by popular female-oriented site Jezebel.com, Deen’s fans represent the true diversity of adult entertainment viewers. Between his boy-next-door looks, relatable personality, and unique humor, Deen has become ingrained in the hearts of more women than any male adult performer.
“The first time I saw him, it was kind of really relieving,” said 20-year-old fan Christina Ahlsen in an interview with ABC’s “Nightline.” “Because in porn, the males are usually guys I’m not even close to being attracted to. He is just accessible; he looks like somebody that I could see at, you know, a coffee shop or something and actually approach… I mean, if he were, you know, just a regular guy. He is a regular guy.”
By doing what he loves, regardless of social norms, James Deen has become an iconic rebel. Deen’s films and writing speak to a generation – emphasizing the importance of personal growth and self-expression.
