It’s the question you didn’t know you needed the answer to: In which state does sexual intercourse last the longest?
The results are disappointing, to say the least.
The data comes from an app that lets lovers record their ruckus and then provides them with statistical feedback on their duration, decibel peak and thrusts per minute.
And no, foreplay doesn’t count.
Spreadsheets shared the data from its 10,000 early adopters with sex and culture blog Nerve and the writers there organized a map showing the average length of sexual encounter per state.
So, how long does love last, as it were? On average, one round of lovemaking lasts between three and 10 minutes, according to Spreadsheets.
But most of the state-by-state numbers are lower than that with most areas falling between two and three minutes. The shortest encounters are in Alaska at 1:21 and the longest are in New Mexico at 7:01.
Florida didn’t even make it to the two-and-a-half minute mark.
