New Bohemia is not just a brand new NYE’s event at San Francisco’s iconic Armory, it’s also a place. A world like no other.
Part the velvet red curtains to find an SF twist on those timeless bohemian values of Truth, Beauty, Love and Freedom. Further in the castle find cutting edge sounds, SF’s most dynamic creative communities, and the synergy of intentional revelry on the precipice of a new year.
Poets and performers, aerialists and DJ’s, burlesque dancers and live painters, acrobats and absinthe hawkers, Art Cars and visual treats, crimson busts and decadent costumes; are all to be found in different markets, plazas, private upstairs chambers and titillating dark corners and streets inside New Bohemia.
Last year’s debut New Bohemia event drew 3,500 guests.
As SFGate reports
The first thing to know about the second annual New Bohemia New Year’s Eve party at the Armory — with vaudevillian acrobatic fun, electronic music and costumes — is that organizers will have multiple lines for entering the building, not just one, and the entrances will be covered to shield guests in case it rains.
The second thing to know about this party, which appeals to a certain section of an older, affluent San Francisco subculture, is that this year, guests have the opportunity to buy “Premiere VIP XXXperience” packages that allow private parties for up to 20 people in the film sets of Kink.com, the adult film factory within the Armory. Alcohol is provided and no illegal activities are allowed, but you can bring your own Bluetooth speaker and you will be assigned your own private security guard. In other words, party like a porn star.
New Bohemia New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. Event begins at 8 p.m. and runs until 4 a.m.,
