Porn scandal at Bristol university: UWE says it will take legal action

IT has built a reputation as a seat of learning but now the University of the West of England has unwittingly found itself the location for the filming of online pornography.

The university says it is taking legal action after a man filmed scenes for a Bristol-based website at its Frenchay campus.

The campus and students are clearly visible during the 23-minute video, entitled Johnny Rockard at University of West of England in Bristol Student pick up and public sex with horny Xzena.

In it a man wanders around the campus among unwitting students telling the viewer he is looking for a girl “who wants to earn some money and have some fun”. He soon approaches ‘Xzena’, who claims to be a third-year psychology student aged 22. She chats to him on one of the main thoroughfares of the university campus with numerous students seen walking by.

Later she performs a sex act on him in broad daylight by the gates to the campus.

A few minutes later the couple are seen on a bus to Bristol city centre where she again performs a sexual act, before a third sex scene shot on the stairs leading to the flyover above Nelson Street.

UWE Bristol said neither of the people in the film were students or linked to the university in any way.

Officials say the footage was taken during the summer holidays but that some students would have been present on the campus at the time.

The university and student union learned of the footage after picking it up while monitoring their social media, as the film’s producer promoted it online.

UWE Bristol vice-chancellor Steve West said: “I am appalled that the university should be subject to such behaviour from someone with no connection to the university, resulting in a false and misleading representation of the university.

“We have worked with the Students’ Union, staff, our on-campus security, have involved the police to investigate and have taken legal action.”

UWE Students’ Union president Charlie Roper said: “UWE Students’ Union are deeply concerned that this act has happened campus and are aware that UWE are fully investigating and taking legal action.”

On his website Johnny Rockard claims to be “probably the most globally publicised and promoted UK name in adult entertainments” due to an “increasing appetite for explicit content of the British girl next door genre.”

The Bristol Post contacted the man behind the footage, who insisted he had broken no laws in making the video.

He said Johnny Rockard Global Media was based in Bath Road, Brislington, and that the woman involved in the video made hundreds of pounds from it.

He added: “It is a public space.

“If I was in their buildings they could take issue but it is public land, so I have not breached any law.”

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police confirmed they had been made aware of the incident.

“The incident was reported to us on Monday, January 20.

“We are investigating an allegation that somebody has gone onto the campus grounds and made an adult film with a suspected female actress in a public space.

“We are currently looking into this incident and whether any offences have been committed.”
