On Monday, Ken Paxton, the Attorney General for Texas and a member of the Republican party, commenced legal proceedings against Aylo, Pornhub. The action claims that Aylo fails to comply with controversial age verification legislation in Texas. This law mandates adult-themed websites display health advisories mirroring religious-based anti-pornography messages—largely decried as myth-fueled propaganda. Currently, this statute’s constitutionality is being examined due to raising concerns.

The news was disseminated by Paxton through his X account utilizing emphatic emoticons followed by a declaration: “Today denotes my initiation of litigation against Aylo Global Entertainment—a proven purveyor of pornography—for their disregard of HB 1181.” He expanded on this matter saying HB 1181—an impactful Texas act—mandates the implementation of diligent age authentication procedures aiming to protect minors from encountering explicit content.

Concluding his statement, AG Paxton reinforced: “The state of Texas asserts its right to insulate our young citizens from detrimental influences found within pornographic offerings. It affords me personal gratification knowing I have an active role enforcing justice on entities operating outside the stipulated laws for age verification—effectively preventing children from accessing harmful and indecent material online.”
