What do an Aussie start-up and a US porn star have in common? The lucrative adult services market.
Online business directory Mate of Mine has hired Ron Jeremy, star of more than 800 porn films, to be the face of its global launch.
The launch sees the four-year-old company set its feet firmly in the adult services industry – a sector founder Dane Westerweller hopes will live up to the old adage “sex sells”.

“I’ve been trying to find someone to partner with, who was a person of influence and thought Ron was perfect,” he says.
“He has no sex appeal whatsoever, but people are intrigued by him.
“He relates to young and old, and he’s mainstream as well. I didn’t want just a porn star, I wanted someone a bit broader.”
