LOS ANGELES, Calif – September 1 /Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC)/ — The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee today announced the appointment of its 2016-17 Board of Directors, which includes: Ela Darling (President), Mickey Mod (Vice-President), Venus Lux (Treasurer), Verta (Secretary), and Chanel Preston (Chairperson).
“This is a brilliant and diverse group of performers,” says outgoing APAC President Chanel Preston, “and their appointments to the APAC Board of Directors means new visions and new perspectives for APAC and our industry. I’ve been so honored to be a part of APAC’s direction for the past two years, and look forward to being involved as the incoming Chairperson for the upcoming year.”
Incoming President, Ela Darling, emphasizes the organization’s ongoing commitment to performer support, advocacy, and education. “Over the past two years, APAC has made amazing progress on a very restricted budget, and I’m both honored and thrilled to continue to work on behalf of the workers in our great industry,” Darling remarks.
In the upcoming months, Darling will oversee the implementation of a Peer-to-Peer mentorship program that offers individualized support for performers, as well as a series of educational videos that highlight the nuances and demands of performing in the adult industry. Darling also underscores that “APAC will continue the fight against Prop 60 until the very end.”
All board positions were elected by APAC members during a two-week online voting period in mid-August 2016. Members will take office during the first several weeks of September. Bios on each of the new board members can be found here: http://www.apac-usa.com/#!about/c20r9
