Breast Implants Save Lives!

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 41-year-old Brevard County woman, who doesn’t want to be identified, says the 6-thousand bucks she spent on breast augmentation three months ago, was well worth it.

Without the surgery, she says a recent stabbing could have cost her her life. “That was the best investment I’ve made [laughs] obviously,” she said.

The victim says her ex-fiance’s new girlfriend, Amy Winter, attacked her outside of his Melbourne apartment.

Accused: Amy Winter allegedly stabbed her boyfriend's ex-fiancee in the chest

First scratching her car…then turning the knife on her…stabbing her repeatedly in the left side of her chest. “It happened so fast, I’m like ‘put down the knife,'” she said.

She added, “I look down and I was covered in blood.” Then she realized, the knife had punctured the implant and she was soaked with saline.

Doctors say the salt water and walls of the implant prevented a deadly blow. “It was just really lucky, fortunate, just think about it three months ago if it happened to her, she would have been dead,” said chief surgeon Frank Filiberto.

The doctor says she could have had a collapsed lung or the blade could have pierced her heart. “When you stab this (the implant), this gives a little, it probably gave and couldn’t get through it, then it went through it and couldn’t go through the back wall.”

This kind of damage to the implant isn’t typically covered by warranty, but because the patient is a victim of a crime, the manufacturer will cover the cost.

Turns out fake boobs have saved other lives, as well.
