Feds Attack Amateur Porn, Leave “Mature” and “College Co-ed” Films Unharmed

WASHINGTON — With $17 trillion in debt and counting, the federal government is in a pinch. Fittingly, those with successful amateur “pinch fetish” films might not know it, but Congressional oversight of their site clicks is one of the more secretive priorities of the Obama administration.
Users of YouTube-inspired pornography websites, which let amateurs monetize accounts, are subject to U.S. tax law.

Actors and directors are now finding out the hard way just how far the federal government will go to reach into citizens’ pockets – and if no one has clothes on, it will reach into an orifice, provided it’s the kind of industry that makes use of them.

Uncovered by major media outlets, IRS crackdowns of amateur-porn tax cheats rose by 60 percent in 2011. Federal coffers swelled by $2.4 billion due to those who eventually coughed up cash owed to Uncle Sam.

Behind the scenes, House Republicans are furious at the number of exceptions the White House has carved out for the most Obama-friendly groups within the amateur porn industry. “Mature” and “college co-ed” films are not subject to taxation, as both constituencies are said to have contributed big money to Obama’s re-election Super PAC

Speaking off the record, a senior staffer to a Republican senator on the House Ways and Means Committee explained it as such: “As usual, the Obama administration is pandering to young people and the elderly, and we can’t make an issue out of it because … it’s porn. This isn’t crony capitalism — it’s kinky capitalism. It’s bull, and it has to stop.”

Sometime next week a compromise between Republicans and Democrats is expected to happen. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney has quietly signaled that the president is willing to send IRS attack dogs after “swingers’” fare as a favor to social conservatives, if those who feature cigarettes and firearms in their films face additional punitive measures.

“In a sluggish economy, these people are being paid to have sex,” said Sen. John Kerry (D-MA). “Not everyone can do that. It’s not fair, and the Democratic Party is about fair.”

For one of the few groups doing well during this prolonged recession, their means of recourse is limited. It appears as though this is one bitter pill that they’ll have to … swallow.
