Shelley Lubben never actually cries — I don’t think she can. You’ll notice her make-up never smears or runs.

Her version of crying is like her version of on-camera sex: fake, overwrought, telegraphed and unappealing. It’s all the same to her: just another show for the suckers. It’s still stunning, however, how bad she remains at it.

Her disciples (that’s what they call themselves) all take their cues from the “Rebel Prophet.”
