Troy — Police are on the lookout for a thief who stole 100 pairs of panties from a Victoria’s Secret in the Somerset Collection.
According to reports, the theft occurred some time between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Friday at the shop located at 2800 W. Big Beaver Road.
Police said the unmentionables were taken from the store’s panty bar and were valued at $950.
This is actually the second panty theft in Troy within the last 10 days.
On May 19, police arrested a 16-year-old Detroit girl who shoplifted four shirts, a dress, a pair of shorts, a bra and eight pairs of panties from a J.C. Penney store in the 700 block of W. 14 Mile.
According to police, the teenager was wearing all eight pairs of panties when she was arrested. The rest of the merchandise was concealed in her purse.
She was turned over to a parent and will be petitioned to Probate Court.
